Upper Kachura Lake

Upper Kachura Lake is one of the two lakes running between the Skardu Valley Mountains, known as the Kachura lakes. The Upper Kachura Lake has clear blue water and is 70 meters deep. The altitude of the upper kachura lake is about 2800 feet above the sea level and remains at 15 degrees Celsius in the summer season. The temperature drops down to a freezing point in winter, and the Lake becomes frozen.

It will take you around 15 minutes from the parking to the Lake, and as you walk, you can see the incredible fruit tree jungle and a beautiful village alongside the way. The beauty of the place is yet almost untapped and is not explored much, mostly due to relatively rough terrain.
